Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff is a French actress was born on the 3rd of May 1986. She was trained at the Cours Florent drama school in Paris and has appeared in films like Loup (2009), Sleepless Night (2011) and Hacker's Game (2015). She plays the Mantis character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (1999). Pom Klementieff was the child of two parents: a Korean mother and her father was French-Russian. Her father was a consul of Quebec City, Canada. Her grandfather was painter Eugene Klementieff. Since it sounds like the Korean words for "spring" or "tiger" her parents gave their daughter the name Pom. Klementieff lived for a year in Canada prior to moving her family frequently because of her father's work. After moving to France, Klementieff lived in Japan. Klementieff's father died of cancer when she was just 5, and her mother had schizophrenia and was unable to take care of children and so Klementieff was raised by her aunt and uncle who were paternal. Her uncle, who she described as "like her father" passed away at the age of 18 as did her older brother, who was killed just seven years after, but this time on her 25th birthday. Klementieff briefly went to law school following the loss of her uncle's to appease her aunt but did not find the academic path attractive. Also, she worked as an waitress in France as well as a salesperson. She began acting when was 19years old at the Cours Florent theatre school in Paris. She was just one month in studying when she won the competition to be a part of the theater that provided her two years of tuition with the best teachers at the school. Klementieff was the stepdaughter of Catherine Deneuve in Apres lui (2006) the film that was her first professional acting gig. The filming process took three days. During one scene, Klementieff was supposed to push a person down a set of steps but accidentally fell down the stairs herself and director Gael Morel recorded that scene in the film. Her first lead role was in Loup (2009), a French film about a tribe of reindeer herders located in the Siberian mountains. Klementieff filmed for hours at a camp far from the closest village. Temperatures dropped to minus zero while filming.
