Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) and was Director of the national office at Mary Kay and Freddie
Wright who was a pharmacist executive. Her birthplace was San Diego,
California. Her professional journey began when she was 14 as a model. She has
worked both in Paris, Japan and Paris. She chose to become an actress after she
had graduated from high school. She got a role on the soap show Santa Barbara
(1984), for which she was nominated three times for an Daytime Emmy. She became
a fan of Dane Witherspoon during the first season. They got married in the year
1986. In addition, she appeared in The Princess Bride (1987) playing the title
character. After she left Santa Barbara, she was offered the lead role in
Denial (1990), alongside Jason Patric. In the year 1990, she was in State of
Grace (1990) in which she got to know actor Sean Penn, by whom she had a
daughter named Dylan Frances, and a son, Hopper Jack. After taking a few months
off, Robin was back to Hollywood with one the best parts of her career: She
played Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was absolutely beautiful and amazing.
She was in Toys (1992) the film that was a comedy with Robin Williams. It was
an extremely funny performance. Wright played the role of Jenny in 1994's blockbuster
success Forrest Gump (1994) with Tom Hanks. In recognition of her performance
as Jenny, she got an award nomination for the Golden Globe Award. The film
offered her a small role in The Crossing Guard (1995) along with Jack
Nicholson. After a string of rejections, she was offered the lead part in
MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). It was directed by Pen Densham and featured
Morgan Freeman, Stockard Channing, and Morgan Freeman. She then starred in Erin
Dignam's Loved (1997), with William Hurt.
