Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn, born May 12, 1972 is an American actress. Her most well-known part is the role of Kim Wexler, an attorney in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-2018), where she was a two-time recipient of the Satellite Award as Best Supporting Actress for a series, Miniseries or Television Film. She has also appeared on the NBC series Whitney (2011-2013) and ABC's I'm with Her (2003-2004) as well as TNT's Franklin & Bash (2011-2014). Deborah Rhea Seehorn, a Norfolk native was born on 12 May, 1972. Her mother worked as an executive assistant for the United States Navy, and her father was an agent for the Naval Investigative Service. She grew up in a family who moved often, which included the cities of Washington, D.C., Arizona, and Japan. At a very young age, she was inspired by her grandmother and grandfather to study painting, drawing and architecture. As she continued to pursue her love of the visual arts, she developed a passion for acting. She was also introduced to modern theatre at the time of her college. She earned her degree from George Mason University in 1994 with a BA in Studio Art. Seehorn began her career in college as an actor and was inspired by her acting professor. To make her stand out she took on ancillary roles in D.C.'s theater industry. While she was eventually able to be a part of major local theatre productions, and was forced to do odd jobs in order to survive but she continued to work in the field of film as a teacher filmmaker. Then she was involved in more TV productions. She was often compared to Bea Arthur, who she described as "very wry," "sarcastic, and knowing" women. However, most of the roles she played were part-time shows that were cancelled after just one or two seasons. Seehorn was chosen to play Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff series. Seehorn is Kim Wexler (a lawyer) and is the love interest for the Jimmy McGill character.
