Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara, an American performer and actress of Irish descent was a well-known persona. The fiery, passionate characters she appeared in variety of American films were loved by the green-eyed beauty with flaming hair and flaming eyes. Her beauty and glamour were awe-inspiring. She was also known as the Queen Of Technicolor and was a household name in Hollywood. The roles she played on screen were a reflection of her brave, strong character. She fought for respect and survival within an era of male dominance. She always called herself the "tough Irish lass" who will never sacrifice her honor and status to get the roles she deserved through merit. She stood up against injustices and discrimination against female actors during her film career, and gained numerous admirers. The autobiography of her, "Tis Herself", was released in 2004. The book was an honest and candid story of her life and the difficulties she encountered while climbing the ladder to success. She was an adventurous woman who wasn't afraid of carrying out her own stunts. She starred in over 60 films and was a international star. After leaving Parra and her husband, she got married to Charles F. Blair Jr. in the year 1968. Blair was a brigadier, a chief pilot and was a pioneer in transatlantic aviation. O'Hara took a break just a few years after the couple's marriage. Blair however, was killed in a tragic plane accident in the year 1978. O'Hara's joy was only temporary. In the same year, she was diagnosed with having uterine cancer and had undergo surgery immediately. She was eventually cured. She had six heart attacks, short-term memory loss and type 2 diabetes over the next years. On October 24, 2015, O'Hara passed away peacefully in Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at 95.
